Take a ‘Tiki Tour’ Through the NewBo & Czech Village District This Week
Do some shopping with a tropical drink in your hand!
This Thursday, June 9th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., The District is set to host their 3rd annual Tiki Tour. What's a Tiki Tour, you ask? Well, the official website reads:
"Thirty-three DISTRICT businesses will be having some awesome sales and food promotions to kick off the summer in addition to some fun tropical-themed giveaways! Support local and have some fun!"
Ages 21 and over are invited to check out businesses in the NewBo and Czech Village area, including Fong's Pizza, RAYGUN, Almost Famous Popcorn, SOKO Outfitters, Lucky's on 16th, Corner Store Apothecary, The Daisy, and The Funky Zebras. Attendees are also encouraged to dress up for the occasion. We're talking Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, and leis! Be sure to post a photo on social media and tag @thedistrict.cr.
According to the event map, some businesses will offer alcoholic beverages, some will offer non-alcoholic ones, and others will offer both, so there are plenty of options for everyone that wants to participate. You can check out the map below:
The annual Tiki Tour is a great way to kick off the summer while supporting locally-owned businesses here in our community. You can get more details on the event on the Facebook event page HERE.
Speaking of locally-owned businesses, did you know that Iowa is one of the top ten states in the U.S. with the highest percentage of family-owned businesses? You can read more about that HERE!
