Sunny Sweeney recently played an integral part in reuniting an Iraq war veteran with a family treasure. A sterling silver ring crafted to honor Kery Hatcher's service turned up in a hotel in Natchez, Miss. Thanks to Sweeney -- and Facebook -- Hatcher was able to find it in time for the 10th anniversary of his deployment.

The story begins when Hatcher lost the ring last July. According to WLBT-TV, he thought he lost it at home, but Sweeney's aunt found it at the Hampton Inn in Natchez. Sweeney than posted a pic on Facebook asking fans and friends to spread the word, and it worked!

"I found the owner of the ring in one day," she wrote last Friday, "and no less on the 10th anniversary of his ship date to Iraq! God works in mysterious ways."

Hatcher's fiancee Allison Ann Dalton is the one who saw the missing ring post and recognized it immediately. She'd wondered why he hadn't been wearing it. After verifying the ring actually belonged to the army veteran, Sweeney — whose new album 'Provoked' was released last year — dropped it in the mail.

"I am forever grateful to those that found and post my ring on Facebook and I am blessed to have a beautiful woman that love me and takes care of me," Hatcher wrote after being reunited with his ring.

This is the second time in recent months one of Sweeney's Faceboook posts has gotten mass-media attention. In October, she snapped a photo of a man praying with a soldier. That man — Michael Barth of Washington — later wrote to her thanking her for taking the photo.
