Check Out Acres of Beautiful Sunflowers in Eastern Iowa
It's almost time to get your sunflower fix at a farm in Benton County!
Pheasant Run Farm is a popular stand at the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market, but did you know that you can also visit the farm at its location in Belle Plaine? Their annual Sunflower Experience is coming up in just a few weeks!
According to the official website, Pheasant Run Farm anticipates that the Sunflower Experience will open the weekend of August 10th and 11th, with more dates added "as bloom time gets closer." We don't have many other details about the 2024 event just yet, but last year's Sunflower Experience featured 10 acres of sunflowers, cut-your-own sunflower bouquets, photo stations, and children's activities. For the latest updates, you can follow the farm's Facebook page HERE!
If you can't wait until August, there's another Eastern Iowa Farm that officially kicked off their annual Sunflower Festival on July 20th! Harvestville Farm in Donnellson will be open until 8 p.m. this Thursday and Friday, July 25th & 26th, as well as next Thursday, August 1st. The festival features ten acres of sunflowers, photo prop areas set out among the flowers, and the option to cut your own sunflowers (for an additional fee). Admission costs $12 per person, with ages two and younger getting in free. Read more about the event HERE.
Bass Farms in Mount Vernon also has a Sunflower Experience this year! That one kicked off on Saturday and is open daily until Friday, September 6th. Tickets are available for just $6 per person. You can read more about it HERE.
There are a couple of other Eastern Iowa farms that have sunflower experiences later in the season. That includes Colony Acres Family Farm in North Liberty, which has not yet announced their 2024 dates for their blooming sunflowers, as well as Pride of the Wapsi in Long Grove. Pride of the Wapsi's 2024 Sunflower Days will kick off on September 21st.
