Starbucks is Offering Free Coffee to Healthcare Workers
Healthcare workers could really use some caffeine right now, and Starbucks wants to hook them up!
Shout out to the person that came up with this idea! According to a statement on their website, Starbucks locations have begun offering free coffee to front-line responders in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. The promotion kicked off yesterday and will run through Sunday, May 3rd. The official statement reads:
"Any customer who identifies as a front-line responder to the COVID-19 outbreak will receive a tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) at no charge."
Although Starbucks cafes across the country are temporarily closed, drive-thru and delivery options remain open at many locations. You may want to call and confirm that your local Starbucks location is still serving customers at this time. I called the Starbucks at 1st Ave NE in Cedar Rapids this morning and they confirmed that they are offering the free tall brewed coffee to front-line responders.
Starbucks also announced that The Starbucks Foundation will donate $500,000 to front line responders here in the U.S. through the organizations Direct Relief and Operation Gratitude. You can read more about that HERE.
