Sneak Peek of New Mount Trashmore Park
The sign clearly says "not open to the public" until completion, but we had special access to the new city park located high atop Mount Trashmore to bring you this exclusive sneak peek
The park will feature a scenic lookout giving visitors a beautiful birds's eye view of our city, including the Cedar River and the downtown area's city skyline. Hiking trails and other amenities are also in the works.

According to the Gazette, the City of Cedar Rapids stopped using the site as a landfill in 2012. The park is scheduled to open in late June.
