The Salvation Army Running Short of Red Kettle Goal
With less than a week until Christmas, the Salvation Army of Cedar Rapids says they need your help with the annual Red Kettle campaign.
Times are tight for everyone but a buck or two will help those even less fortunate in our community. The group's goal is to raise $763,000 this season and they say they are only halfway there.
Bell-ringers will be out until 4 p.m. Christmas Eve, December 24th which is also historically the single largest donation day in the Red Kettle campaign.
That day alone generally generates up to $17,000, so there's still time. You can donate your spare change to the bell-ringers outside your favorite store holding the Red Kettle and know it's going to people in your community who need it, or send or deliver a check to the Salvation Army at 1000 C Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405.
If you'd like to be one of those bell-ringers, they still need volunteers as well. Visit their website for opportunities.
