Three Country Hitmakers to Perform in Eastern Iowa This Summer
Attendees of an eastern Iowa fair this summer will enjoy two nights of live country music, including one that features three different artists.
Aaron Tippin's career began on a talent show on The Nashville Network in 1987. His "You Can Be a Star" appearance helped get him a songwriting contract. Three years later, during his first show at a Nashville nightclub, he was discovered and signed shortly thereafter, by RCA Records. In 1991, his song "You've Got to Stand For Something" went Top 10.
Tippin, who was born in Florida and raised in South Carolina, has three number one songs and has taken seven other songs to the Top 20.
Louisiana native Sammy Kershaw burst onto the country music scene in 1991 with his debut album that included four top 20 songs. Two years later, he hit the top of the charts with "She Don't Know She's Beautiful".
Kershaw has 11 top 10 hits, and has put over 25 songs into the top 40.
One of the biggest country hitmakers of the 1990s, Collin Raye took his second song ("Love, Me") to number one in January of 1992. Raye's other number one songs include "In This Life", "My Kind of Girl", and "I Can Still Feel You".
Raye, a native of Arkansas, has had 24 top 10 hits and was nominated by the CMA and ACM for Male Vocalist of the Year a combined 10 times.
These three great artists combine for the Roots & Boots Tour that will hold down the stage at the Buchanan County Fair in Independence. The show is a Throwback Thursday concert on Thursday, July 6. Tickets for the concert are available here.

The contest ends Sunday, March 12 at 11:59 p.m.
