The New Riley’s Cafe is Now Open in Cedar Rapids
Riley's Cafe has returned to the Corridor!
Earlier this summer, we were surprised to discover that two new eateries would be closing their doors in Cedar Rapids. Oak Hill Tavern and Glazed and Infused Donut Shop, which shared the building at the corner of 8th Ave and 5th St SE, announced that they were shutting down and being replaced by a familiar name, Riley's Cafe.
At one point, Riley's Cafe had several locations throughout Cedar Rapids and Marion, but all of them had been closed... until now. The new Riley's Cafe on 5th officially opened its doors on August 30th.
As far as the menu at the new Riley's Cafe goes, managing partner Darci Bunting told me that customers will definitely see some changes from their previous locations. She said:
"We started with the old menu and cut about a third of it and added a few [items] of our own. The original menu was quite large, and our goal was to keep our inventory down. I have a couple [of] previous Riley’s employees who helped determine what the best sellers were. Our lunch menu is brand new."
There is also a Bloody Mary Bar, which is open daily.
Riley's Cafe is now open daily at 804 5th St SE from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. It has indoor seating, as well as a covered patio. Their happy hour is held Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 am. and includes $4 mimosas/well bloodies and $1 pancakes. The lunch menu is offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For the latest updates, you can check out the official Facebook page HERE.
