Resources Unite, A Dubuque charity was about to launch their campaign to support flood victims in Louisiana when the Cedar Rapids flood hit. When it did, they knew they had more work to do. The group shifted focus to help people in both states with donations and volunteer requests. Organizers claim victim requests are similar in needs: Cleaning supplies, baby items, pet food and school supplies.

During October, Resources Unite, McKesson Corporation, and Hirschbach Motor Lines are teaming up to collect these items. At the end of the month, they'll will need volunteers to help deliver them.

Resources Unite has also made an effort earlier this year to collect 10,000 water bottles for Flint, Michigan after their lead scandal was revealed. They surpassed their goal with an impressive 600,000 water bottles.
