RAGBRAI is Hosting a Fall Ride in 2020
One of the MANY big summer events that was canceled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic is the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa, better known as RAGBRAI. Back in April, the annual biking event was postponed until 2021, but now there is some good news to report! On Friday morning, RAGBRAI announced that they will be hosting a fall ride in 2020.
According to RAGBRAI's official website, 'The Great Iowa Fall Ride' will take place Friday, October 2nd through Sunday, October 4th in Iowa Falls. We don't know very much information at this time, but we do know when more details will be revealed. The site reads:
"More details about the two and a half-day event will be released on Saturday, July 25, the last day of RAGBRAI’s virtual ride."
RAGBRAI's Virtual Ride will begin Saturday, July 18th and run through Saturday, July 25th. Registration officially opened on June 15th and will close on July 15th. The cost is $55 per person and includes a whole bunch of goodies, like a t-shirt, a pint glass, a commemorative patch, and access to a private Facebook group, a live concert, and a virtual pie-eating contest. Riders will be able to participate in daily challenges and have to chance to win exclusive raffle prizes. The daily challenges and theme days are already listed on their site, which you can view HERE.
RAGBRAI 2021 will take place July 25th through 31st and will have the same route that the 2020 event was supposed to have. Registration will open November 15th of 2020. You can read more on that HERE.
