Like many other big events that were called off due to the pandemic in 2020, RAGBRAI, The Register's Great Annual Bike Ride Across Iowa, is back this year. Thousands of riders both serious and casual will descend on Le Mars, Iowa this weekend to begin the week long trek across the state. Officials with the Iowa State Patrol are already warning motorists to be patient as this year's ride looks to have a big turnout.

Officials with the Iowa State Patrol says that as many as 20,000 cyclists could show up this weekend in Le Mars. KTIV reports that officials warn motorists to be on the lookout for road closures and detours when the ride moves through their home town. They also tell motorists to just be patient, as the riders will be through a specific area by the end of the day. Iowa State Patrol officers will follow the cyclists as the cross the state.
