After Four Year Hiatus, Eastern Iowa Air Show Will Return to the Sky
One of eastern Iowa's largest events, first held in the 1980s, is set to return soon.

Through the years, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels have performed at the air show numerous times, as have the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds return (photo above) this summer.
The USAF Thunderbirds will be joined by the F-22 Raptor Demo Team (F-22 Raptor photo below) at the Quad City Air Show.
The 2023 show will also include a U.S. Air Force Single Ship Demo along with WWII Demos and static displays of the F-4U5, C-45, TBM, T-34, T-6, T-28, P-38J, and more. It will also include the below planes. Please note, the photographs below are not the exact planes that will appear.

P-38 (dwarfed by Lockheed C-5 Galaxy)
According to the Quad City Air Show, the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation will fill the sky with "modern fighter and attack aircraft flying alongside WWII, Korean and Vietnam-era planes in a dramatic display of our nation's air power history."
The image below is from Heritage Flight at a 2004 air show in the eastern U.S.. It featured planes from four generations.
The SkyHawks Canadian Forces Parachute Demonstration Team will also perform, along with the AeroShell Aerobatic Team. Other activities include helicopter rides, a flight simulator, the Army Challenge course, the U.S. Air Force Performance Lab, Army Special Ops Display, U.S. Air Force Major Ground Display, and Kidspace Games.
The last time the Quad City Air Show was held was in 2019. Prior to that, 2016 was the last time aircraft took to the sky for the event. It was held every year from the late 1980s through 2016. Hopefully, it will once again become an annual event. The 32nd Quad City Air Show is held June 24 and 25 at the Davenport airport. You can find complete details HERE.
