Pizza World is Almost Ready to Open Their New Cedar Rapids Location

Pizza World is getting closer and closer to the grand opening of their brand new restaurant!

Back on January 15th, Pizza World announced on social media that, after five years, they would be shutting their doors. But, the closure would NOT be permanent! Because of continued road construction, the restaurant decided to relocate from 4201 42nd Street NE in Cedar Rapids to the Fountains, which is just up the road. The Facebook post reads:

"After a lot of thought and discussion, we’ve decided that moving Pizza World and Voodoo Brewing Co. Cedar Rapids to a new location is the best way to continue serving you safely and effectively. This wasn’t an easy choice, but we believe it’s the right one for our community, the stability of our business, and to avoid the challenges that other local businesses have faced during prolonged construction projects here in Cedar Rapids."

Pizza World's new restaurant is at 5100 Fountains Dr NE, the former home of Saucy Focaccia. But, that's not the only big change. Pizza World has also teamed up with Voodoo Brewing Co., a popular brewery based in Pennsylvania, which will operate out of the same building!

Pizza World has been holding some soft openings in recent days, but the official grand opening celebration is set for this Saturday, April 12th. The Voodoo Brewing Co. portion of the restaurant won't open until a few weeks later, on Friday, May 9th. If you simply can't wait until Pizza World's Saturday opening, keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates, they may just have another soft opening this week!
