According to the East Moline Police Department, on the eastern side of the Quad Cities, Sergeant William Lind was on patrol just after 6:30 p.m. Monday night when he located 52-year-old Adrian Rogers, who was wanted on a "probable cause pick-up" for aggravated arson in Rock Island.

Sergeant Lind approached Rogers and shortly after, the East Moline Police Department says Rogers attacked Lind before fleeing on foot. The attack was reportedly captured by Lind's body camera.

Other officers found Sergeant Lind unconscious with head injuries. He was taken to a Silvis, Illinois hospital before being transferred to an unidentified hospital outside the Quad Cities due to the severity of his injuries. The East Moline Police Department says he is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Just under 4 1/2 hours after Sergeant Lind was injured, Rogers was found in Colona, Illinois. He was taken into custody around 10:50 p.m.

Rogers has been charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer, Aggravated Arson, and Residential Arson. All four are felony charges. Rogers is being held at the Henry County Jail in Cambridge, Illinois on a $1 million bond.
