The death of a rural Earlville woman, initially reported as caused by injuries in a fall, has now been ruled a homicide.

At about 12 noon Saturday, November 10th, Delaware County emergency workers responded to a 911 made by Todd Mullis, reporting that his wife, 39 year old Amy Mullis, was injured on their farm. Amy was pronounced dead on her arrival at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester.

Todd Mullis told authorities that Amy's death was unattended; it was originally reported that Amy was injured in a fall.

However, an autopsy by the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny, listed the manner of death as homicide.

No details have been released on the type of injuries Amy Mullis sustained.

The investigation began with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.

Authorities are asking that anyone with information on Amy Mullis' death, should contact the Delaware County Sheriff's Office.   (563-927-3135)
