Not One, But Two Music Superstars Set for Iowa Concert
Two of the biggest stars in music right now are getting ready to rev their engines and head to the Hawkeye State this summer.
For the past two years, the Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend has brought huge crowds to Newton's Iowa Speedway for a "turbocharged blend of thrilling racing, world-class live music and three days of fun and excitement."
In 2023, drew 85,000 racing fans to the “Fastest Short Track on the Planet” for the multi-day event. In addition, to several days of racing, for the past two summers, officials have also brought in some of the biggest musicians on the planet to Iowa.
Last year, the event coordinators brought Ed Sheeran, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, and the Zac Brown Band to the Newton event.
"Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend has become a true destination event, showcasing everything that is great about racing and about Iowa," said Jeremy Gosch, Hy-Vee's vice chairman and CEO.
"We're obviously very excited about how the weekend has been received the past two years, and we know the 2024 event will be just as great. We look forward to bringing these artists to Iowa and providing another outstanding weekend of entertainment."
Who Are They Bringing In for 2024?
On Monday, December 18th officials from the Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend announced two of the performers that will be coming to Iowa in 2024.
Music superstars Luke Combs and Post Malone are set to take to the stage this summer.
Luke Combs
The seven-time Grammy nominee has skyrocketed in the past few years. Combs has quickly become one of the most popular country stars in the game.
This singer has multiple ACM and CMA Awards and was even named CMA Entertainer of the Year in 2021 and 2022. His recent country radio hit 'Fast Car' recently became his sixteenth consecutive number one single.
Luke Combs is set to perform at the first race of the weekend on Saturday, July 13th.
The country star will take to the stage before the first NTT INDYCAR SERIES race of the weekend.
Post Malone
The Texas native and award-winning rapper has become an interesting fixture in the music industry. Malone has been dipping his toes into various genres and blending them together effortlessly.
His songs 'Congratulations,' 'Rockstar,' 'Circles,' and 'Psycho' have made him a certifiable hitmaker.
Recently, the eight-time Grammy Award winner has started to collaborate with country musicians.
He performed at the 57th Annual CMA Awards with Hardy and Morgan Wallen. The three musicians sang 'John Deere Green' and 'Pickup Man' at the award show.
Post Malone will perform on Sunday, July 14th after the final INDYCAR SERIES race of the weekend.
Additional Event Details
Both artists will perform a 90-minute set on the trackside Hy-Vee Stage. This is right front of the main grandstands at Iowa Speedway, according to officials.
More musical acts are set to be announced in the upcoming weeks.
