New Traffic Pattern at the Blairs Ferry Road Exit Off I-380
Get ready for a new traffic twist that started Tuesday on Blairs Ferry Road NE over I-380 in Cedar Rapids!
Here’s the scoop: the two center lanes will be wide open for your east/west cruising pleasure. However, the outside lanes are taking a temporary nap for some much-needed construction TLC. Please be respectful of the construction workers, they sometimes venture outside the bounds of the concrete barriers and a few drivers get a little close.
Heads up—no left turns allowed onto or off I-380 and Blairs Ferry Road for a while. So, put away those left-turn signals and follow the signs like a pro. What I’m not doing is telling you what to do. I would never do that. Here’s what it would sound like if I did. “I’ll do what I want, Sloppy Joe, I’ll left turn signal all day, look at me I’m signaling and going left, I’ll do what I want” The City of Cedar Rapids is the one who is meddling in your left turning. I am merely passing information along that could be helpful in making your commute a bit better, maybe safer or what about both, that would be a hoot.
Here is what you are not supposed to do but again, just a suggestion, from me. We only did it to get the proper pictures. Otherwise, we would have NEVER taken a left turn like literally everyone else.
Let's recap, the city of Cedar Rapids is really the stick in the mudd here with all the no left turning.
And remember, those barricades aren’t for a DIY obstacle course, so stay on the right side of the cones!
Enjoy the ride and keep it safe out there! ️
