New ‘Star Wars’ Video Game Not Worth the Price

The world is Star Wars crazy right now, isn't it? With 'The Force Awakens' less than a month away, and a new Star Wars video game hitting the market, the franchise is seemingly on fire! If you own a Playstation 4 or Xbox One, and you're a die hard Star Wars fan, you'll probably buy the new game Star Wars Battlefront. But there is a disturbance in the force. Battlefront isn't worth the money.

The game itself looks gorgeous. The next gen systems are really a huge improvement in the graphics department. But for $60, you should get more. Many players complain that they've completed the single-player campaign in less than one hour. The online experience is full of glitches and bugs. And if you want to play on other maps and game modes, you have to buy a DLC, or more commonly known as an 'expansion pack'. The price? Another $50! So the game really costs you well over $100.

The bugs and glitches of online mode can be fixed. It happens frequently in online gaming. But the troubling part is the cost. I get that next generation games cost around $60. So do most gamers. But you've got to give us more than an hour of playtime. And you can't require all the extras we want for basically another full priced game. So if you're a die-hard Star Wars fan and money is no object, go ahead and give Battlefront a try. I'll just sit around and pray the movie is launched more successfully.
