New CR Mexican Restaurant Offers Over 50 Different Tequilas
A new Mexican restaurant is having their soft opening in the Downtown Cedar Rapids area!
Last December, we got word that not one, but two new Mexican restaurants would be opening right next door to each others on 1st Ave NE, both owned by the same folks that own Mas Margaritas in Cedar Rapids. The first to open was La Casita Breakfast Café, which is located in the former Riley's Café at 836 1st Ave. The tiny restaurant officially began welcoming customers in late December and offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options. It's open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
When La Casita closes for the day, you can head next door and check out Mamacita Taco Bar. It's at 834 1st Ave NE in the former Moose McDuffy's, and they announced this week that they are doing a "soft opening." Like the restaurant's name suggests, Mamacita's offers a bunch of different tacos. 12 to be exact! And you have the option to mix and match those tacos with the "Taco Tray." You can order three, six, or twelve tacos for a Taco Tray.
If tacos aren't really your thing, the menu at Mamacita Taco Bar also offers other Mexican fare, including burritos, nachos, quesadillas, tortas, gorditas, ceviche, churros, fried ice cream, and more. They even have a small selection of options for vegan customers. Oh, and don't forget about the margaritas! A recent Facebook post from the restaurant boasts that they have over 50 different types of tequila available! You can check out the full food menu below:
Since Mamacita Taco Bar is currently doing a soft opening, the restaurant's official hours are not yet listed. You can check out the Facebook page HERE for the latest updates.
