Nearly 500 More COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Iowa
The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Iowa continues to shoot up.
According to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, there are 482 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the state. That total follows 257 yesterday and another 389 on Sunday. That's a 3-day total of 1,128 in the state of Iowa. 3,641 people in Iowa have now tested positive for the virus. Thirty-three percent of the new confirmed cases are related to surveillance testing at Iowa meat processing facilities.
Four more people passed away from the virus, bringing the total in Iowa to 83. All four are related to long-term care facilities.
A total of 214 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in Iowa. Eighty-nine are in intensive care and 60 are on ventilators at this time.
The number of Iowans that have recovered from the coronavirus is 1,293... 35 percent of the total that have tested positive.
