Meghan Markle’s Father Is Having Heart Surgery on Wednesday
It's been a tumultuous few days for the Markles. On Monday (May 14), TMZ reported Meghan Markle's father, Thomas, was no longer planning on attending the Royal Wedding after it was revealed he had staged a paparazzi photo shoot over the weekend.
Now, it's been revealed that Mr. Markle won't be attending the historical nuptials due to something much more serious: heart surgery. A week ago, Thomas suffered from a heart attack but had been discharged and clear to travel to England for the wedding this weekend. However, according to TMZ he was having chest pains on Monday and checked himself back into the hospital Tuesday (May 15), where it was concluded he'll go under the knife on Wednesday (May 16).
"They [doctors] will go in and clear blockage, repair damage and put a stent where it is needed," Thomas told TMZ.
Meghan texted with her father, telling her how much she loves him and is concerned for his health, but unfortunately this surgery means he will not be able to walk his daughter down the aisle when she says "I do" to Prince Harry on Saturday, May 19.
