Maddie Poppe is Doing a Virtual Concert to Support Iowa Businesses
We may not be able to see live concerts in-person right now, but virtual live concerts are the next best thing!
It was announced yesterday that Iowa-native and American Idol winner Maddie Poppe will be taking part in a virtual concert to help support local businesses in the Cedar Valley. According to KWWL, Cedar Valley Strong will stream the event on their Facebook page and Live the Valley will also have it on their Facebook page, as well as their YouTube channel. The concert will be free for all to watch this Friday, May 8th at 7:30 p.m.
So, what can we expect from the half-hour live concert? The article from KWWL reads:
"Poppe will perform some of her new song releases, answering questions and engaging with the online audience."
The online event is hosted by Cedar Valley Strong, a new initiative to help struggling locally-owned businesses during the coronavirus pandemic. Their official website reads:
"#CedarValleyStrong is a movement to buy gift cards and/or online items that can either be picked up or delivered now in the Cedar Valley area!"
Businesses on the site are conveniently organized into categories, like "Retail," "Food & Drink," and "Professional Services," which you can then click on for details on carry-out/pick-up options, gift card purchasing, and/or online shopping information. It's important to support small businesses right now so that when things go back to "normal," these places will be able to open back up and continue being an asset to our communities here in Iowa.
Live the Valley notes that more of these types of concerts will be coming soon. You can follow them on Facebook HERE to keep up with the latest updates.
