Local TV Station Announces Hiring of News Anchor
KWWL-TV has announced the hiring of Abby Turpin, to co-anchor newscasts at five, six, and ten.
Turpin, originally from Ohio, has been working at RFD-TV, the nationwide ag cable network, as their main anchor for the last two years. Her previous stops include stations in Lincoln, Nebraska and Toledo, Ohio.
In a press release from KWWL, Abby says,
"My husband and I are both from the Midwest. It means a lot to us to be able to raise our daughter with a similar upbringing in Iowa. KWWL has an outstanding reputation in the news business. I am humbled and honored that my career has led me here."
Abby is married to Travis Turpin, a cruise ship entertainer:
Abby and Travis are parents to a daughter named, Reece, born in September of 2016.
Abby Turpin will join Ron Steele, who just returned from open heart surgery, this June. I have no doubt she'll get a huge welcome from eastern Iowa.
