What do you still need?

Getting the answer to that question several weeks into derecho recovery is the purpose of a Linn County questionnaire available to residents. According to Iowa's News Now, they encourage any and all to fill it out here so recovery resources can be properly assessed and distributed.

It will ask for some contact information (securely shared only with those who can help) and about basic supply needs, housing needs, disabilities, agricultural damage, food, transportation, legal needs and more. RaeAnn Gordon is director of the Iowa State University (ISU) extension service, who created the survey.  She said "we know that the needs of rural residents can be different from those who live in cities. This questionnaire will help ISU Extension and Outreach staff and our county partners identify the needs of the rural community in the post-disaster recovery process.

It's hoped that the questionnaire will help better assist those who are still lacking information and resources in their recovery.

Those still hoping to apply and receive FEMA aid have only a few more days to apply in person at 950 Rockford Rd. SW between parking lots of Kingston and Veterans Memorial Stadium. The in-person disaster recovery center remains open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through this Saturday. Once it closes, applicants for that assistance will have to use online or mobile app options or call  (800) 621-3362. Applying for FEMA aid through any those methods expires on October 19.
