A New Dive Bar/Restaurant is Now Open in Cedar Rapids

A new neighborhood bar and restaurant officially opened this morning (September 10th) in Cedar Rapids! Lil Grove Dive Bar is now welcoming customers.

Located at 1010 2nd Ave SW, Lil Grove is located in the former home of The Rewind, which closed its doors back in September of 2022. The Facebook page for the new bar and restaurant reads:

"Best little dive bar in Iowa. Established to bring back the good old days of sitting back grabbing a cold beer and meeting new friends! Want a new place to unwind and chill then Lil Grove is the place to be!"

Lil Grove opens daily at 7 a.m. and offers a breakfast bar until 11 a.m. for $12. It features items like eggs, bacon, pancakes, and biscuits & gravy. After breakfast hours, Lil Grove will have a "very cool lunch/dinner menu" with items like smash burgers, "smash tacos," nachos, salads, and appetizers that will be offered until 10 p.m.

As far as happy hour is concerned, there will be several of them throughout the day Monday through Friday: 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and 9 p.m. to midnight. It'll be $2.50 for 12oz domestic cans, $2.50 for well drinks, and 12oz $2.50 Busch Light draws.
