KHAK Crowns the Winner of the 2019 Favorite Local Restaurant Bracket!

The day has finally come! After several weeks of voting, KHAK listeners have officially chosen their favorite local restaurant for 2019!

Back on March 8th, we asked you to submit nominations for your favorite locally-owned restaurants here in Eastern Iowa via the KHAK Facebook page. We tallied up the over 400 votes by hand, and then put the 16 top restaurants into a March Madness-style bracket. Each weekday we revealed one of the matchups and allowed you to vote in a poll on the KHAK website. Eventually, we made it down to two finalists: The General Store in Stone City and Teddy's Barn & Grill in Anamosa. It was the battle of Jones County! We are very excited to announce that after a record number of votes (over 2,200!), the winner is... The General Store!

Congratulations to both restaurants for making it to the finals! In case you missed it this morning, we had representatives from The General Store and Teddy's Barn & Grill in the studio when we made the big announcement:

The General Store joins a great line-up of winners - Hale Tap in 2018 and Bluff Lake Catfish Farm in 2017. Thanks to everyone who voted and helped us support amazing locally-owned restaurants! We are already looking forward to 2019 :)
