Longtime KCRG TV-9 anchor Bruce Aune will officially call it a career on Friday. Bruce's final newscast will be that night at 6 p.m. with a special half-hour tribute to follow.

Bruce has seen it all. He's covered all kinds of amazing stories both nationally and locally. He was here for the floods in 2008. He was on the air for countless hours during 9/11. While Bruce was in the KHAK studios this morning, he also revealed that he remembers smaller stories that left a mark. Like the taxidermist in Aplington- Parkersburg that was among that nation's best. He also recalled all the great people he had the chance to work with during his years at KCRG.

We were able to surprise Bruce with two of those former co-workers! We played messages from former meteorologist Denny Frary and Bruce's first co-anchor Eadie Fawcett. You can hear them and Brain and Courtlin's entire interview below.

We salute Bruce Aune on an outstanding career of bringing Eastern Iowa the news. He will be missed.
