Iowa Native is Back Home as TV News Anchor/Reporter
A former eastern Iowa television news anchor and reporter has returned to the Hawkeye State. It's home for the Iowa native.
Danielle Wagner is a graduate of Oelwein High School and the University of Iowa. She started her career in southeast Iowa, at KTVO in Ottumwa, after graduating from the University of Iowa in 2005.
Wagner's next career stop is the one where many eastern Iowa viewers will remember her from. She spent more than seven years at KWWL in Waterloo. The video below is from Christmas in 2010. It's just too good not share and lends some insight into one of Wagner's passions, animals:
Wagner worked as a reporter and anchor of the weekend morning news on KWWL:
In 2015, Wagner joined WEAU in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was hired as a Weekend Anchor/Multimedia Journalist. In early 2017, Wagner became anchor of the evening news. She held that position until accepting the job that takes her back to eastern Iowa.
Wagner is a fervent champion of pet adoption, both at home and on-air. She has six rescue dogs named Alffy, Benny, Missy, Pippy, Teddy, & Winny.
One of the big reasons Wagner wanted to return to Iowa is so she can spend more time with her niece and three nephews.
This weekend, Jim Mertens and Nicole Agee were joined by Wagner on air as they revealed she's joined the KCRG TV-9 news team.
After deciding she wanted to be involved in local news when she was in second grade, Wagner continues to live a lifelong dream. Please join us in welcoming her home.
