Jon Pardi Gears Up for New Album, ‘Heartache Medication’, With Title Track + Tour
Jon Pardi has plans for a brand-new record called Heartache Medication, and the singer says he'll stay true to the fiddle-heavy, solid country sounds of previous hits like "Head Over Boots." According to a press release, the project's eponymous lead single channels the King of Country himself.
"The single "Heartache Medication" has an '80s George Strait "Fool Hearted Memory" feel to it, and is something people can dance to," Pardi explains. "That's something I really wanted for this album. There really are no sad songs on this record -- it covers a range of subjects, but is ultimately about moving on and having a good time." Press play above to hear the new track!
The single, which Pardi co-wrote with Natalie Hemby and Barry Dean, will impact country radio beginning June 3, with the record's release date set for Sept. 27. Pardi's big announcement comes on his 34th birthday (May 20), just one day after the singer appeared on the American Idol finale alongside newly-crowned show champ, Laine Hardy.
In addition to his new music, Pardi revealed his upcoming 2019 Heartache Medication Tour, which will include opener Riley Green on select dates and kick off with back-to-back performances at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. A select pre-sale for tour dates will begin on May 28, with tickets going on sale beginning May 31.
