Jon Pardi shared the secrets of songs from his new Heartache Medication album on Thursday night (Sept. 26), admitting that his girlfriend Summer pushed for what is perhaps the signature track.

Pardi may seem like an "Old Hat," but a few lousy dates led Summer Duncan to falling for this Jeff Hyde traditional country message. Taste of Country Nights host Evan Paul also pressed Pardi on his plans to marry her, to which he either demurred or dodged, we're still not sure.

Heartache Medication is Pardi's third studio album and the first since the critically-acclaimed California Sunrise from 2016. Several of the songs from the album were written four or five years ago and one was cut more than a decade ago, but he tells the story of "Don't Blame It On Whiskey" better than we could in the video above.

Touring with Dierks Bentley, his end-of-tour gift from Luke Bryan and who pushed him to try out for American Idol many years ago were all part of the conversation, first premiered on YouTube Thursday night and on Taste of Country's Facebook page. The 34-year-old Californian is the latest guest on ToC Nights LIVE! Below find a playlist of video interviews from Brantley Gilbert, Trisha Yearwood, Tracy Lawrence and more.

Pardi will continue the Heartache Medication Tour with Riley Green in October. The title track of his new album is his current single. It's close to Top 20 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
