
Iowa State Alum, NHL Reporter Dies in Minnesota House Fire
A popular NHL reporter and podcaster died in a house fire along with her three children and family dog over the weekend.
Minnesota House Fire Claims the Life of Mother and 3 Children
Yahoo reports that the White Bear Lake Fire Department responded to a call of a single family home fully engulfed in flames, Saturday morning at around 5:30 a.m. The family of three was declared dead at the scene. A cause of the fire is still under investigation. Authorities confirm that 37-year-old Jessi Pierce and her three young children, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery, died in the fire.
Pierce Attended Iowa State University
The New York Post reports that Pierce was a proud graduate of Iowa State University. She spent the past 10 years covering the Minnesota Wild of the NHL. She also hosted a popular podcast, Bardown Beauties. The Post reports that Pierce also wrote for USA Hockey and other hockey publications.
A Devoted Mom to Her Three Kids
Just hours before the fire, Pierce posted pictures on X of her taking the kids to get ice cream at a local shop on opening day. Pierce's husband, Mike Hinrichs, was out of town at the time on a business trip.
