Everything You Need to Know for Hinterland 2024

A summer in Iowa is not complete without an outing at a music festival.

This year, Hinterland Music Festival returns to Iowa during the first full weekend in August (August 2nd through August 4th).

The indie/pop/folk three-day event will bring in crowds from all over Iowa and beyond.

This music festival is located in St. Charles, Iowa which is not too far from Des Moines.

Hinterland takes place at the Avenue of the Saints Ampitheatre and the organizers bring in a stellar lineup of indie-folk/pop artists to the festival every single year.

Parking

Every single vehicle that will be entering the festival grounds will require a parking pass, which you can purchase here.

Off-Site Pickup

On-Site Pickup

Located directly across the road from the festival Main Entrance next to the RV Lot.

Temporary parking is available in the Box Office Parking Lot.

Fri., Aug. 2 – 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Sat., Aug. 3 – 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Sun., Aug. 4 – 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Shuttles

If you're camping or staying in a hotel room in Des Moines, at some point you will have to use a shuttle.

There is a free shuttle to Des Moines for all ticket holders. It will be running all throughout the festival and will go between the Wells Fargo Arena Parking Lot in downtown Des Moines and the on-site festival Box Office.

In addition, there will be a general parking shuttle from 1-day General Parking and 3-day General Parking to the box office; as well as a free shower shuttle from the showers to the campgrounds.
