RPM Raceway Opening First Chicago-Area Location at Oakbrook Center
There are plenty of places to get your go-karts on in Illinois; however, if you thought you could only race go-karts on this scale in Wisconsin Dells or somewhere like that, think again. I know I always felt like that was one thing that was missing in the state, a place devoted to racing go-karts. Everywhere else, it's part of the attraction, not THE MAIN attraction.
That's not all, though, because there are other things to do, including:
- Virtual reality experiences
- Augmented reality attractions
- A huge arcade
- Bowling
- Digital darts
- Racing sims
The arcade will feature some classics like Pac-Man and new ones too. RPM Raceway also has Gel Blaster games, which combine paintball, video games, and laser tag all into one.

If you're looking for a weekend road trip from Rockford or just a new place for the family to go, this could become one of the biggest indoor entertainment destinations not just in Illinois but the Midwest.
From the monstrous go-kart track to the arcade, it sounds like the kind of place where you tell yourself you'll stay for an hour and suddenly, it's dinner time.
If you want to be there the day they open, you can sign up on RPM Raceways' website to get notified when an official opening date is announced.
