
Man & Woman Shot and Killed in Southern Minnesota, Suspect Captured in Iowa
Hanska, MN (MinnesotaNow)- The suspect in a double murder in Minnesota is now in custody.
That’s according to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, which says the victims were killed in a small southern Minnesota town.
The alleged double homicide occurred early Sunday morning and law enforcement announced the capture of the suspect about 12 hours later.

Suspect in Double Murder in Small Town of Hanska, MN Captured in Iowa
Brown County deputies responded to a 911 call shortly before 4:30 Sunday morning reporting a shooting.
A juvenile caller said his mother’s ex-boyfriend broke in and shot his mom at the mother and son’s home in the small town of Hanska, which is about 12 miles south of New Ulm.
Responding deputies found the boy’s 32-year-old mother and a 50-year-old man dead at the scene from gunshot wounds, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office says. The names of the victims have not been released.
Authorities identified the suspected shooting as 45-year-old Randy Thomas Zimmerman.
Officials released a clothing description of Zimmerman and shared a description of the vehicle he was driving. Law enforcement also warned the public that Zimmerman was armed and dangerous and could have traveled out of state.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office then reported that Zimmerman had been taken into custody in Iowa by multiple law enforcement agencies shortly before 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Details regarding the arrest are not available. Authorities indicate they are awaiting Zimmerman’s extradition back to Minnesota.
