Dubuque Hy-Vee’s Host Halloween Scavenger Hunt for Kids on Saturday
If your kids turn grocery trips into a battlefield of tantrums, fights, and “don’t touch that!” warnings, you’re not alone. As any parent knows, a simple trip to grab milk and eggs can feel more like navigating an obstacle course. But this Halloween, Hy-Vee is flipping the script and making shopping fun for kids, and a little less stressful for parents, especially during the seasonal sugar-filled freak-out session!

The newly launched Hy-Vee Kids Club is hosting its first special holiday event: a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt. On Saturday, October 25th, from 10 AM to 1 PM, kids of all ages are invited to put on their costumes and explore their local Hy-Vee stores searching for items on a spooky scavenger hunt list. Along the way, they’ll enjoy treats and get to experience the store in a whole new, playful way.
The Kids Club, which officially launched earlier this fall, is designed to make grocery shopping more enjoyable for children while teaching them about food, cooking, and healthy habits. Membership is free and comes with fun perks like personalized name tags, birthday surprises, and access to goodies like cookies, fruit, and stickers during store visits. For families, it’s a chance to turn what used to be a stressful chore into a shared adventure.
Beyond the Halloween event, the Hy-Vee Kids Club has plenty of seasonal activities planned, from local and national character appearances to Noon Year’s Eve celebrations and Grill Out with Dad events. Parents can enroll their children anytime at their local store, ensuring that every grocery trip comes with a little extra magic. Maybe even a few peaceful moments for grown-ups while shopping.
This Saturday, let your little ghouls and goblins roam the aisles with excitement, rather than frustration. The Halloween scavenger hunt is the perfect way to kick off the season; and for parents, it might just make grocery shopping fun.
