
Dubuque Police Respond to Threat at Hempstead High School
The Dubuque Police Department is actively investigating a general threat of violence directed at Hempstead High School that was reported around 1:10 PM on Thursday, April 10th.
According to a police news release, officers responded to the school immediately upon receiving the report and began an on-site investigation. Working in coordination with Dubuque Community School District staff, the department implemented increased security measures to ensure the safety of students and staff during dismissal. This included a heightened law enforcement presence at the school.

Although the initial investigation suggests the threat is not credible, authorities are treating the situation seriously, and the investigation remains ongoing. The Dubuque Police Department is asking anyone with information related to this incident to call 563-589-4415 or submit tips anonymously at www.cityofdubuque.org/police.
