A new year brings a renewed sense of excitement and speculation regarding what kinds of concerts will be coming to Dubuque and the surrounding Tri-States. Each and every year, the great folks at Q Casino + Resort bring an elite roster of musical acts to the Back Waters Stage. This year looks to be no exception, as the first name in the 2025 Summer Concert Series has been revealed.

It's not hard to see why Back Waters Stage concerts are as popular as they are. Even beyond the big names the casino routinely brings to the area, any given summer's versatile lineup spans multiple genres while the venue itself is the perfect setting for those long, humid nights with friends. Last year alone, the Back Waters Stage hosted Billy Currington, Lil Jon, and Ice Nine Kills to name a few acts.

Today, the first act for the upcoming 2025 Summer Concert Series was revealed. Country singer Jake Owen will be performing on Q Casino's Back Waters Stage on Thursday, June 19th. Owen will be bringing his "Driftwood Ramble Tour" to Dubuque. Furthermore, he has been around long enough to be considered a veteran of country music with a reliable arsenal of recognizable hit songs that will surely complement a summer evening.

Owen's music is beachy and laidback, often defined by good vibes and romance. He exploded on the scene in 2011 with the release of his breakout single "Barefoot Blue Jean Night." That same year, Owen dropped "Alone with You;" both songs made it to #1 on the country charts, solidifying a new star in the country music stratosphere.

Since then, Owen has become a reliable hit-maker, known for songs like "I Was Jack (You Were Diane)," which itself was a call-back to the John Mellencamp hit; the bar-room anthem "Down to the Honkytonk;" and "Best Thing Since Backroads," just to name a few.

Over the years, Owen has toured with the likes of Kenny ChesneyLittle Big Town, and Jason Aldean. For his Dubuque show, he'll be joined by Uncle Kracker, who will take the stage prior to Owen on June 19th at 7:30pm. Uncle Kracker's known for his eminently popular cover of Dobie Gray's "Drift Away" along with originals like "Smile" and "Follow Me."

Tickets for Jake Owen at Q Casino's Back Waters Stage will go on sale this Friday, February 7th, 2025, at 10am. Gates for the show will open at 6pm on Thursday, June 19th with the concert set to begin at 7:30pm.
