Jessica Simpson’s ‘Leave’ Lyrics: Scathing New Song Hints at Cheating Ex

Jessica Simpson released her "most vulnerable" song yet, "Leave."

The pop-turned-country singer dropped the breakup anthem on March 7 (Friday), leaving people to assume she was alluding to her divorce from former athlete Eric Johnson.

"I urge everyone to allow yourselves to be empowered by heartbreak, to never stay quiet with your needs and to always know that love should demand respect," she wrote on Instagram teasing the new tune.

The emotional song—off her upcoming EP Nashville Canyon: Part 1—suggests that Johnson may have been unfaithful, as she sings about the need to escape an "unholy matrimony."

In January, the shoe designer announced she and Johnson were calling it quits.

The former flames tied the knot in 2014, and share three kids: daughters Maxwell, 12, and Birdie, 5, and son Ace, 11.
