A recent video of life inside a University of Iowa Frat House has gone viral, and for all the wrong reasons. The alleged hazing incident has already received millions of views online and shows some truly striking images.

It was captured by University of Iowa Police and firefighters as they stumbled upon 56 shirtless and blindfolded pledges standing inside a dark room, many of them blindfolded. The pledges also had food covering their bodies, apparently thrown on them as part of the hazing ritual.

The reason authorities showed up to the house in the first place was due to the fire alarm being triggered at Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity in Iowa City.

Arrested on the scene was 21-year-old Joseph Gaya after continuously impeding the investigation. According to the criminal complaint, Gaya repeatedly put himself between the officers and the pledges after being told to step away. He was later released and charges were dropped.

As mentioned, this happened well over a year ago in November, 2024. What's happened since?

According to KGAN of Cedar Rapids, there was a thorough review of the incident straight away:

University of Iowa Police and the University of Iowa Office of Student Accountability immediately investigated the incident and suspended Alpha Delta Phi on Feb. 25, 2025.

The Alpha Delta Phi fraternity was suspended until at least July 1, 2029.
