Miranda Lambert is in the middle of a busy week leading up to a new album release (Postcards From Texas, out Friday), so while not shocking to see her pop up on the 2024 MTV VMAs red carpet, it is unexpected.

The country star and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, dressed in head-to-toe black — with turquoise embellishments and a peekaboo turquoise bra on Lambert — to step out at UBS Arena in New York Wednesday night (Sept. 11).

Lambert isn't nominated for any awards at the 2024 VMAs, but she'll be cheering on some friends from the crowd: Her collaborator and friend Morgan Wallen is nominated in two categories — his first VMAs nods. Jelly Roll is also up for two.

"A Bar Song (Tipsy)" hitmaker Shaboozey and country newbie Post Malone are nominated this year, and once-country trailblazer Taylor Swift is the most nominated artist going into the show.

Lambert's Postcards From Texas project is her first album on Republic Records, her new label home after leaving her label of 20 years, Sony Music Nashville. Its leadoff single, "Wranglers," is at radio now.

The project also includes a co-write with her hubby on a song called "Dammit Randy." He's not a songwriter by trade — he's former NYPD — but she says he nailed it, and that his song is one of her favorites on the new project. McLoughlin teared up when Lambert told him she'd cut it for the album.
