NFL.com has released their top-selling jerseys so far this year, and the result for the state of Iowa came as a big surprise to me. I figured Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers was an easy choice. Wrong. Aaron actually doesn't even have one of the top 25 selling jerseys in the U.S. However, his IS #1 in the state of Wisconsin. Big surprise there.

In the state of Minnesota, Adrian Peterson is still the top-seller. That's sad, really, considering he's signed with the New Orleans Saints. FUMBLE! Sorry, Adrian, as a Vikings fan that's how I'm coping. Peterson isn't number one in Iowa, though. He's the 25th top-seller nationwide, by the way.

Could it be a Chicago Bear? Yeah, that's kind of funny actually. Who would it be? When you look up Bear jerseys you typically see people like Mike Ditka, Brian Urlacher, Walter Payton, and even Mike Singletary. Nope, no Bear, either. Illinois' top-selling jersey is New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. C'mon Illinois, you can do better.

Iowa's top-selling jersey is actually the top-seller in the U.S. It belongs to former Seattle Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch. The same Marshawn Lynch who didn't even play in the NFL last year, after retiring. He's returning this season as a member of the Oakland Raiders or Las Vegas Raiders or... that's another blog, I guess. Marshawn's quite a player, there's no denying that. He's #1 in 13 different states.

The NFL season officially begins with a preseason game next Thursday. You read that right. August 3 will feature the annual Hall-of-Fame game featuring the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals. The Bears and Vikings will both try to find some new stars when their preseason begins on August 27. Football is back in nine days.
