Iowans Name Their Favorite Fries for National French Fry Day

When it comes to sides, there's no better companion than fresh hot fries. Whether you're a fan crinkle cut, steak, curly, shoestring, waffle, or sweet potato fries, there really is no wrong choice.
In honor of today's important food holiday, we decided to take a look at some of the best fries in Eastern Iowa. If I absolutely had to choose, I would say my favorite fries in the area are from Gianna's Italian Beef, Midtown Station, and Frydae. Gianna's fries with a side of cheese are absolute perfection, as are the Poutine Fries from Midtown. They come topped with gravy, bacon, cheese, and green onion. And then there's Frydae's Buffalo Mac & Cheese Fries. UNREAL.
I asked Iowans on the Cedar Rapids Area Support Local Group on Facebook who serves their favorite fries in the area, and the only stipulation was that they couldn't come from a fast food chain. Here are some of the picks:
