Watch out if you plan to travel outside the Iowa state line this Halloween season.

Creepy clowns have recently been spotted in nearly every state surrounding Iowa as this new scary phenomena takes storm across the USA.

According to Heavy.com a total of 28 US States have reported Creepy Clown sightings lately, including Alabama, Arizona,  Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Now it turns out that they seem to be closing in on us. There have been recent reports of sightings in Cedar Rapids.

It's no laughing matter. The shocking clown sightings include masked creeps who have followed innocent people home and then stood in their driveways waving at them. Others have unnerved motorists on streets and highways, at nearby businesses, and most disturbingly, at schools.

Several law enforcement branches are concerned with the intimidating nature of the sightings, as many victims of clown intimidation tend to be younger females.

And it seems to be just that - a form of intimidation, rather than a good old-fashioned Halloween scare. But there have also been reports of gunmen committing armed robberies while wearing clown masks, which can clearly exacerbate the sense of danger one may feel if confronted by a prankster dressed as a creepy clown.

Bottom line: Be alert and beware this Halloween season.
