The Iowa State football team finished the season by winning two of their final three games and got wonderful news concerning their 2017 roster today.

Allen Lazard, Iowa State's All-Big 12 wide receiver, has announced he'll return for his senior season instead of entering the NFL Draft.

In a release from the Iowa State Sports Information Department, Lazard said, "Our football team made a lot of strides this past year. Coach Campbell has this program going in the right direction and the enthusiasm and excitement within the locker room is extremely high."

Lazard is an Urbandale native who led the Cyclones in catches (69), receiving yards (1,018) and touchdowns this season (7). In the final five games of the 2016 season, Lazard averaged seven catches and 114 yards per game. He's now caught at least one pass in 35 consecutive games, an Iowa State record.
