In her song 'Ten Year Town', Shueyville, Iowa native Hailey Whitters sings about her time in Nashville. The ups and downs of an artist trying to make it big. "12 years into a 10-year town," she sings, wondering why she isn't a big star. Well Hailey, congratulations...stardom has officially found you.

Whitters was given the award at the annual ACM Awards New Artist Celebration concert last night in Texas, according to The Tennessean. Zach Bryan won for Best New Male Artist. Hailey was handed the award right before her show-ending performance. Whitters will make her ACM Awards debut during the awards show on Thursday night! Chances are she'll be singing her first big hit on mainstream country radio, "Everything She Ain't."

The single is off her critically acclaimed album 'Raised', a project full of songs about the places and people in her home state. Here is hoping this is just the first of many awards for Hailey. She has made Iowa proud and it's great to see the rest of the country music world figure out what we already knew. This is award-winning country music!  Congratulations Hailey!
