Iowa Juvenile Killed In Lawnmower Accident
We have very sad news to report out of Buchanan County:
According to CBS2, "12-year-old James McGrance of Fairbank was killed after a riding lawnmower struck him after rolling backward on an incline."
The incident happened Saturday afternoon around 2 p.m. in the 400 block of Lakeside Drive in Fairbank. McGrance was mowing the lawn, and shut down the mower and walked away.
The police report indicated the lawnmower rolled back at the juvenile and struck him. He was then pinned underneath the mower. Authorities were called to the scene to remove the juvenile from underneath the machine.
McGrance was transported to a local hospital and later died. The accident is still under investigation and we will continue to provide updates as soon as we learn more information.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of James McGrance.
