[UPDATED] Iowa City Cab Driver Found Dead is Identified
[UPDATED 6/28/17 7:55 p.m.] The Johnson County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man found deceased in his taxi this morning as Ricky Ray Lillie of Iowa City. The Iowa City Police Department now says his death is being investigated as a homicide.

The driver of a Yellow Cab was found dead in their vehicle early this morning, and police are treating the death as suspicious.
Iowa City Police were called to the Alexis Park Inn at 1165 South Riverside Drive in at around 3:42 this morning. When they arrived, they found a "deceased subject" in the Yellow cab. The man who had made the call to police is also a driver for Yellow Cab. He told authorities he had gone to the location above to check on the other driver's welfare.
It is not known at this time if the deceased driver is a man or woman. The name of the person will be released after the body is officially identified by the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office and the family is notified.

April 29, 2011, Catherine Stickley of Cedar Rapids (who drove for Century Cab) was found dead near the cab she was driving in the 1500 block alley between 2nd and 3rd Ave. S.E. Johnathan Mitchell was eventually charged with first-degree murder. He was later found not guilty by a Story county jury.
