If Your Hand Sanitizer Freezes, Throw It Away and Get a New One
Here's something to keep in mind as the weather gets colder out there; if your hand sanitizer freezes overnight, throw it away.
It's not the cold weather messing up the hand sanitizer, but if it freezes at all, it wasn't good in the first place. Hand sanitizers are alcohol-based, so they shouldn't freeze until the temperature hits nearly -130ºF. So if it does freeze, it means there wasn't enough alcohol to make it effective.
Keep in mind that they do make alcohol-free hand sanitizers, but it'll be noted on the bottle. Instead of alcohol, they use something called benzalkonium chloride to kill germs. If your bottle freezes, check the ingredients. If it's alcohol, throw it out.
