Stunning Ice Castles Will Return to the Midwest This Winter [PHOTOS]
An amazing display of ice creations is coming to Minnesota in early 2025! Get ready for Ice Castles!
Ice Castles will be located in several different states this season, but the closest to Iowa is Minnesota. The display will be set up at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights.
According to the official website, "Ice Castles is an awe-inspiring, must-see winter phenomenon that brings fairytales to life. This fun, family-friendly experience is built entirely from ice and gives guests a unique way to experience winter at its finest." Some of the features include slides, caverns, sculptures, tunnels, and arches, and they're ALL made of ice. Oh, and don't forget to grab an adult beverage at the Polar Pub!
There will also be a brand new feature this winter: FIRE SHOWS!
All of the frozen features that Ice Castles entails are fully dependent on the weather conditions, so there are no official dates set for this winter just yet. The website reads:
"Our crews at Ice Castles can only create winter magic when precipitation is not in the forecast and temperatures are consistently cold enough to grow icicles. Once the Castle is nearing completion, we will announce our opening date."
The display typically opens in January, with most locations staying open through late February or early March. You can purchase tickets in advance online beginning on November 26th at 10 a.m. For the latest updates, be sure to sign up for the newsletter for your chosen location HERE.
