Last night was water change night at our house.  That's a bit of a project when you have 150-gallon, 30-gallon, and 5-gallon fish tanks.  Thankfully, we started with the 150-gallon and I had no issues.  Second up was the 5-gallon, and that's where the trouble started...

Julie siphoned out about half the water, as we always do.  I put the chemicals in to remove chlorine and such, and went back downstairs.  We have a 50-foot hose that hooks to a faucet in the basement...it beats carrying buckets.  Usually.  Almost immediately after changing the unit to "send" water there was a scream and a "STOP!"  I turned everything off and ran back upstairs to the kitchen to find Julie groaning about water, everywhere.  Indeed there was.  On the floor, cupboards, stove, top of the refrigerator, microwave...you get the idea.    Several towels and a good half hour later, the water was dried up.  And that left only the bucket.

Thank goodness I was in the basement to turn that water off quick, and for the fact the hose has a lifetime warranty...
